Farore Law is a KC-led boutique litigation firm that accepts third-party instructions from other law firms and in-house lawyers.
Farore Law represent their clients in courts or tribunals in any employment, partnership or professional disciplinary matter. Since Farore Law started we have provided advocacy to a number of law firms, keen to instruct us because of our reputation as advocates, but also because our knowledge of litigation adds a unique value.
We are different as we are an SRA-regulated solicitor practice with barristers. The team is led by Suzanne McKie KC who is named as a leading individual by Chambers and Partners and Legal 500 for Employment/Senior Executive Law (2024/2025). She has been ranked over many years and has acted in many reported and high level cases including recently : R Kaur v Sun Mark Ltd [2024] EAT 41 (instructed by Keystone Law). She has over 30 years’ experience of advocacy, in particular in the fields of employment and partnership.
Suzanne’s extensive experience means she is well placed to represent Claimants and Respondents/Defendants in complex multi-week trials. She also has extensive appellate experience. Suzanne’s extensive career in both the independent Bar (as KC) and as a solicitor also means that she possesses a strong commercial and practical understanding of employment litigation.
As a former member of the BSB prosecution panel, Suzanne is also very experienced in representing clients in disciplinary tribunals from regulators such as the SRA, FCA, BSB, the GMC and others.
Lucas Nacif is a junior barrister (2021 call) and regularly works with Suzanne McKie KC as a junior in complex discrimination, whistleblowing and equal pay claims. He has also appeared unled in courts and tribunals, including at the High Court in a shareholder’s dispute claim and the Employment Appeal Tribunal in Rahim v The Big Word [2023] EAT 171.
Lucas has also advised barristers facing BSB disciplinary proceedings as part of his pro bono practice and is developing a professional disciplinary practice.
Lucas’s experience at Farore Law means that he has a clear commercial understanding of litigation and understands the day-to-day demands faced by solicitors.
Although we do not operate as a traditional barristers’ chambers, we are happy to accept instructions from solicitors to provide advisory and advocacy services to their clients. We are able to assist law firms in a wide range of employment disputes with varying levels of complexity – ranging from preliminary hearings to appeals. In addition, our highly sophisticated case management systems mean we can readily assist with the lodging of documents and the creation of complex chronologies and lengthy bundles for hearings.
Like traditional counsel, we offer fixed fee prices including competitive brief fees for all advocacy work undertaken by our barristers.
If you would like to explore the option of instructing us as external counsel, please contact Rachel O’Connell or Suzanne McKie KC for further information at oconnell@farorelaw.co.uk or sm@farorelaw.co.uk
