James Beck

James was employed as a Lawyer at the Office of the Official Solicitor in London from 2004 to 2021. He joins Farore Law on the managerial side of the business.

In the past, as well as supervising and mentoring staff and managing policies and procedures, James has specialised in Court of Protection work, advising and representing clients with significant vulnerabilities and disabilities, with an emphasis on serious medical treatment cases. James has huge expertise in managing strategies for highly complex cases. He was involved in many high profile cases in the past, including in the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court including Re: M v W [2011]EWHC 2443 (COP), The Secretary of State for the Home Department v Skripal [2018] EWCOP 6,Director of Legal Aid Casework Et Al v Briggs [2017] EWCA Civ 1169 and An NHS Trust & Ors v Y& Anor [2018] UKSC 46. Prior to working for the Official Solicitor, he practised in the private sector as a Family Law solicitor from 1989 to 2004.

Outside of work, James enjoys fell walking, cooking and swimming.
