International Women’s Day 2020

Farore Law wishes a happy International Women’s Day 2020 to all of its clients, affiliates, and followers.

The purpose of International Women’s Day is to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women while marking a call to action for accelerating gender equality. We are proud to support this movement and this year’s theme, #EachForEqual.

Farore Law feels strongly about access to justice, and we operate a dedicated pro bono unit for cases referred to us via charities and other affiliated organisations. We have assisted around 40 pro bono clients over the past two years, many of whom were subject to numerous gendered injustices including domestic violence, sexual harassment, and equal pay.

Farore Law continues to advance gender parity through the course of everyday practice. As specialists in the laws surrounding discrimination, equal pay, whistleblowing, sexual harassment, and sexual misconduct, we understand the importance of equality on a local and structural level and fight to secure justice for our clients through the legal system. We also advise other legal and commercial institutions on appropriate diversity policies, progression issues, retention matters, and how to address gender pay gaps. (More detail on the kind of work we undertake is available here.)

In celebration of International Women’s Day, Farore Law staff will continue to attend a selection of women-focused events over the course of March. Information on these events is communicated on our Twitter and LinkedIn profiles. We will also be releasing a short 2020 update to our 2019 statistics report on the progression of women in law and other professions once we are in receipt of the requisite data.

We remain delighted to be associated with the following institutions, who also campaign tirelessly for gender parity in and out of the work:

COVID-19 update: Farore Law staff ceased attendance at the aforementioned events on account of the coronavirus pandemic. In addition, the firm will now be releasing the 2020 update to its 2019 statistics report in autumn, which will be published on our website and social media channels in due course.
