Reuters: UBS settles harassment and discrimination claim with Farore Law client
UBS has settled a claim with a former junior trader, represented by Farore Law, who accused the Swiss bank of mishandling her complaint of rape and sexual assault by senior colleagues.
Ms. A, who cannot be named for legal reasons, alleged that she faced gender discrimination and sexual harassment while working for UBS in London, and filed a claim for damages against UBS. Ms. A also sought damages for alleged victimisation resulting from having reported her grievances and alerting managers and regulators to what she described as an “offensive and humiliating” work environment. The settlement included a five-figure donation to British-based whistleblowing charity Protect.
